SoundScape Entertainment

Audio Descriptive Movies, Books, Television, and More.

SoundScape Entertainment was founded with a passion for making entertainment accessible to all, regardless of visual impairments. The journey began when I was diagnosed as legally blind and realized the lack of options available for individuals like me. With my personal experiences, I now offer guidance and support to those who are newly diagnosed and their families, ensuring they have options they can live with. Our commitment to creating inclusive experiences sets us apart, and we take pride in helping others navigate the world of entertainment with confidence and joy.

Do you like reading? Audiobooks are available from many services, including Audible, Spotify, and Google Play. You can listen to audiobooks on various devices, including smartphones, tablets, and smart speakers. Blind individuals access books, newspapers, and magazines through multiple methods, including Braille and assistive technology like screen readers and text-to-speech software.

What do you think about movies? Movie accessibility for the blind is primarily achieved through the audio description, a secondary audio track that narrates key visual elements, allowing individuals with visual impairments to enjoy films fully.

AudioVault: https://audiovault.net/ AudioVault is a non-profit project that provides free access to audio-described movies and TV shows for the blind and visually impaired. It offers a large collection of audio-only content.

Movie Theaters and Audio Descriptive Movies: To access audio-described movies in theaters, check if the theater offers this service, request a headset when purchasing your ticket, and arrive a few minutes early to ensure a smooth experience. While not every movie has an audio description, major studios and streaming services are increasingly incorporating it, making it more accessible to a broader audience, including those with visual impairments.
